Foundation training and workshops: Early Years Alliance
The Early Years Alliance is the largest and most representative early years membership organisation in England.
A registered educational charity, we represent 14,000 members supporting them to deliver care and learning to more than 800,000 families every year.
Sustainability was highly topical when we began working with Terrafiniti, but we didn’t have a strategic plan or clear operational procedures in place.
We’re in the business of educating children; we want to teach children to be good citizens and kind people, to understand the world and to understand their impact on it. These values were important to us when it came to choosing a partner to work with to develop our sustainability practices.
My experience of Dominic and Terrafiniti was that they’re an organisation not motivated by money but by wanting to do the right thing. Their integrity resonated with our organisation’s values.
Reviewing our sustainability practices through workshops
Terrafiniti supported us by delivering a series of online workshops as part of a review of our then sustainability practices. Through these online workshops with colleagues from all levels of the organisation, they helped us explore the fundamentals of sustainability, what this meant for us and how we might develop our approach in the future.
They evaluated where we were, acting as our ‘moral compass’ and always looking for the positives to feedback.
We were exceptionally satisfied with their work and support. It was very clear to me and everyone that Terrafiniti worked with during their time with Early Years Alliance that they are trustworthy, knowledgeable experts in their field.

Engaging young people about the environment at an early age
Although Covid stalled progress, Terrafiniti’s work with our organisation left a positive legacy and helped sow the seeds for the work that we are now trying to do on a national level to ensure that educating young people about environmental sustainability starts in an early years setting, where children are at their most formative.
